NEWSIcewalker.Net is moving to a new server. That's right. It is moving. So don't be surprised if things are a bit, freaky, especially with the gallery. Not only is the gallery moving, but it is getting a major upgrade. Don't worry, all will be fine. I just need time! And the internet is slow when you move websites from one server to another. -- James UPDATE - The new Gallery is online. Same account, slightly different interface. And when you login, you can find instructions on how to use Windows XP to upload photos directly to your Gallery. I haven't tried this yet, but when I do, I will document. -- James As you can see, this site is very very plain. There is nothing to see here. For those folks that recently went on a cruise with Jen and Phillip to the Caribbean, then please continue reading! The web based photo gallery is at this link. The photos specific to Jen and Phillips wedding (and the cruise) can be found at this link. If you are wanting to upload pictures, then please follow these instructions carefully: 1. Contact Jen or James Bruce (no email here, I already have enough SPAM!). Jen will forward your request on to James. We need to know who you are so we can give you an account. James will need your email address and he will set things up for you and email your password to you (it's automatic actually). 2. Once you get your username and password, there are two ways to upload photos. The first is via the web interface. This is great if you have just a few photos. However, if you have a few hundred, you are going to want to use the second method; a software package called Gallery Remote . 3. Download Gallery Remote from that link above and install it (make sure you get the version that includes the JVM). It's a 30 meg file so on a good ole fashioned modem, it will take you two hours to download. So get Broadband before tyring this. One other thing, Gallery Remote uses Java to let you set things up, so that is why the download is so big; it comes with the Java Virtual Machine. Some PC's already have Java, but most don't. For those of you that know you have Java 1.4 already installed, you can download the smaller version of Gallery Remote here. If in doubt, the larger version won't hurt anything. 4. To install, find the file you dowloaded and just get it started. Don't get fancy, just accept the defaults and go. After you have it installed, you can find the shortcut to start Gallery Remote by clicking your Start Button, then Programs, Gallery Remote. 5. Instructions on How to Use Gallery Remote! |
